ANEUVO is developing breakthrough neuromodulation devices and bioelectronic medicine to treat diseases and injuries that are incurable with conventional pharmacological agents. Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Director of R&D to lead the research and development efforts for our next-generation medical devices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical device engineering, regulatory compliance, and product development, along with the leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams. This individual will drive innovation, oversee new product development, and ensure our technologies meet the highest standards for safety and efficacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Innovation
- Define and execute the R&D strategy to align with business objectives.
- Lead the development of new medical device technologies from concept to commercialization.
- Foster a culture of innovation, ensuring the team stays ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Product Development & Engineering
- Oversee all aspects of the R&D lifecycle, including feasibility studies, prototyping, design verification, and validation.
- Collaborate with engineering, regulatory, clinical, and marketing teams to ensure seamless product development.
- Implement robust design control processes in compliance with ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and IEC 60601 standards.
- Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure all R&D activities align with global regulatory requirements (FDA, MDR, ISO, etc.).
- Work closely with regulatory affairs to support submissions and approvals.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary R&D team, including engineers, scientists, and project managers.
- Develop talent within the team by fostering professional growth and collaboration.
- Project & Budget Management
- Manage R&D budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Oversee project timelines, ensuring milestones are met on schedule and within budget.
- Identify and mitigate technical and business risks throughout the development cycle.
- External Collaboration & Industry Engagement

- Work with key opinion leaders, research institutions, and clinical partners to drive innovation.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, regulatory meetings, and technical forums.
Required:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in medical device R&D, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and launching medical devices.
- Expertise in neuromodulation, implantable devices, or related technologies is a plus.
- Strong understanding of design controls, risk management (ISO 14971), and quality systems.
- Experience working in a regulated environment with FDA, MDR, and ISO 13485 compliance.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with Class II and Class III medical devices.
- Knowledge of biocompatibility, electrical stimulation, or rehabilitation technologies.
- Experience with intellectual property (IP) strategy and technology roadmapping.
- Strong industry network and ability to foster external partnerships
