Enhance movement. Enrich quality of life.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a life-altering condition that results in partial or complete loss of motor and sensory function below the level of injury. The World Health Organization estimates that between 250,000 and 500,000 new cases occur each year.1 With therapy, support, and assistive devices, most people with SCI are able to improve their strength and mobility, and adapt to the effects of their injuries—but they may still struggle with daily tasks like showering, dressing, and preparing meals. ExaStim was developed to help people with SCI regain lost movement, strength, and functionality, so they can enjoy greater independence.

What is ExaStim®?

The ExaStim Transcutaneous Spinal Stimulation (TSS) system is a non-invasive multi-electrode system that helps to improve and optimize treatment for patients with spinal cord injuries. As a non-surgical neurostimulation device, it provides transcutaneous spinal stimulation without the need for device implantation.

What are the clinical benefits of ExaStim®?

ExaStim has been evaluated for safety and effectiveness and has FDA clearance. Clinical studies have shown promising results for people living with spinal cord injuries.

What is Transcutaneous Spinal Stimulation (TSS)

Transcutaneous spinal stimulation is a non-invasive medical therapy that has been shown to improve or restore motor function in patients who are experiencing limited function or paralysis due to a chronic spinal cord injury.2 It works by modulating the spinal cord circuitries. To do this, electrodes are externally placed on a patient’s back, and electrical stimulation is delivered via the electrodes by a portable pulse generator (PPG). This system is used to facilitate motor function recovery.

Technology

Pioneering technology. Promising results.

ANEUVO is focused on treating disabling injuries and conditions that have not been curable through traditional pharmaceutical approaches. Our innovative ExaStim Stimulation System has been designated as a Breakthrough Device by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and has received FDA clearance and CE Mark approval in Europe. When used in combination with rehabilitation, ExaStim may help patients recover lost function, movement, and strength, for better quality of life.

Understanding the Science Behind ExaStim® Technology

The brain sends and receives nerve signals that control movement—and the spinal cord carries these signals from the brain to the rest of the body. Spinal cord injuries can damage nerve fibers, causing changes in feeling, movement, strength, and body function.

A Non-Invasive Approach to Neuromodulation

ExaStim provides therapy without the risks and complications of surgery. As a non-invasive device, it delivers spinal stimulation via 16 electrodes on a flexible pad that adheres to the skin and moves with the body.

Advanced technology. Simple usability.

ExaStim is easy to use. Clinicians control therapy through an intuitive, app-based platform on a familiar touchscreen tablet. Lightweight, portable, and rechargeable, ExaStim provides convenient, accessible therapy from any location.

Dexterity

Grasp. Hold. Maneuver. Control.

What could improved hand dexterity mean for your patients?
Results from ANEUVO clinical studies show 85% of patients experienced an improvement in dexterity in one or both hands that was sustained even 4 weeks after cessation of treatment.* Building dexterity can make it easier for patients to manage daily tasks like writing, dressing and housekeeping—leading to greater independence.

“I feel slightly stronger and my range of motion might be a little bit better. Like I feel like I can reach an itch on my head a bit better. My ability to pick up small objects is sort of improved too. I can’t pinch, but tendonesis may be stronger.”

Kyle K., Patient

“Overall, I loved using the device. It provided me with such great feedback and input with stimulation, and I thought my hand function improved greatly!”

Larry B., Patient

“My experience with the ExaStim device was extraordinary. After four weeks of use, I saw a significant increase in my ability to manipulate objects with my hands that hadn’t been present before. Just as important, in the short period of time I participated in the study I realized a marked improvement in sensation.

Jamison B., Patient

“Overall, I highly recommend patients try ExaStim. It takes a little getting used to, but the results were incredible after using it for only 4 weeks. As a quadriplegic, the most life-changing result would be to regain any amount of hand/wrist function — and ANEUVO made that a reality! I look forward to using the device again in the future!”

Sean H., Patient

“Having a highlevel SCI, my son’s deepest desire has not been to walk but rather to have functioning hands again. In only 4 weeks, ExaStim has allowed him to hold and pour a drink into his own mouth!”

Anonymous, Caregiver

If this brought more independence in as little as one month, it is extremely exciting to think of what it will do with prolonged use! Thank you, ANEUVO for restoring hope and some function!

Stephanie J., Caregiver

“As a neuro physical therapist specializing in spinal cord injury rehabilitation, I highly recommend the ExaStim Trans Spinal Stimulation (TSS) device by ANEUVO as a cutting-edge adjunct to activity-based therapy.”

Sakina V., Therapist

“After only a month using this TSS for an average of 3 times a week at an hour each, the ExaStim has given me the independence to pick up a cup and drink without a straw for the first time in years!”

Sean H., Patient

“It alleviated that warm-up need when doing activities. Because of the sensory aspect, I felt the motion was more fluid. I may not have been able to do more, but the movements I could do were more fluid. One of the best things about doing this at home was helping my family cook food with the stimulation on — I was able to cut up beets and put them on the slicer.”

Tony S., Patient

“ANEUVO offers something unique to chronic cervical spinal sufferers. It offers hope. The device and the stimulation provided a spark that started to make certain movements possible and other movements easier. Since its transcutaneous, it’s non-invasive and there’s really no reason to not at least try the stim.”

Dan S., Patient
