Introducing the ANEUVO ExaStim® Stimulation System

Focus on results, not surgery.

ExaStim offers the benefits of spinal stimulation without the risks and complications of surgery.

As a non-invasive device, it provides effective transcutaneous (through the skin) spinal stimulation, without the need for device implantation. This means no downtime for recovery, and no medical procedures to upgrade or replace the device in the future.

Clinically demonstrated safety & effectiveness.

You can feel confident that ExaStim is a safe and effective therapy option. ExaStim was shown to be safe in clinical studies, with no serious side effects caused by device use.

Real functional improvement. Real-life benefits.

ANEUVO clinical studies showed patients with chronic, traumatic spinal cord injuries who received ExaStim demonstrated 2x greater functional improvement than the placebo group. Patients saw meaningful strength improvements within 8 weeks of therapy that were sustained even after therapy ended. Results showed 85% of patients experienced an improvement in dexterity of one or both hands that was sustained even 4 weeks after cessation of treatment.*

What is ExaStim®?

The ExaStim Stimulation System is a non-invasive neurostimulation device that helps to improve lost hand and arm sensation and strength due to chronic spinal cord injury (SCI). It works by providing electrical stimulation to the body via a flexible electrode pad that adheres to the skin. The electrode pad is placed along the spine and can be easily removed when the therapy session is complete. This form of therapy is called transcutaneous spinal stimulation, or TSS. Transcutaneous means “applied across the skin,” and in the case of TSS, it refers to nonsurgical spinal stimulation.

What is Neurostimulation?

Neurostimulation is a treatment that uses controlled electrical impulses to help regulate the activity of nerves and brain cells. One form of this treatment is called spinal cord stimulation, which targets the spinal cord — a central pathway that carries signals between the brain and the rest of the body. These signals help control movement, sensation, and important body functions.

When the spinal cord is injured, the communication between the brain and body can be disrupted. This can lead to paralysis, changes in sensation, difficulty with movement, and
challenges with bladder, bowel, or sexual function.

ExaStim Transcutaneous Spinal Stimulation Therapy is designed to help restore some of this lost function in a non-invasive way. It delivers precise electrical stimulation to specific nerves in the spinal cord, helping to reactivate the nerve pathways that may have been disrupted by injury. By stimulating these pathways, ExaStim may support the recovery of movement and other bodily functions.

Recover Ability, Without Surgery.

Neurostimulation has been shown to improve motor function when combined with standard rehabilitation therapy1—but many neurostimulation devices require surgery. Devices are often implanted near the spinal cord, in order to directly activate nerves and muscles. While this method can be effective, surgery necessitates downtime, creates additional risk, and requires additional time for recovery. Implanted devices may also need to be removed or replaced over time, requiring additional surgeries.

ExaStim offers the benefits of spinal stimulation without the risks and complications of surgery. As a non-invasive neurostimulation device, it provides effective transcutaneous spinal stimulation, without the need for device implantation. This means no downtime for recovery, and no medical procedures to upgrade or replace the device in the future.

Real people. Real results.

Read what clinicians and people with lived experience have to say about ANEUVO and the ExaStim Stimulation System.

“I feel slightly stronger and my range of motion might be a little bit better. Like I feel like I can reach an itch on my head a bit better. My ability to pick up small objects is sort of improved too. I can’t pinch, but tendonesis may be stronger.”

Kyle K., Patient

“Overall, I loved using the device. It provided me with such great feedback and input with stimulation, and I thought my hand function improved greatly!”

Larry B., Patient

“My experience with the ExaStim device was extraordinary. After four weeks of use, I saw a significant increase in my ability to manipulate objects with my hands that hadn’t been present before. Just as important, in the short period of time I participated in the study I realized a marked improvement in sensation.

Jamison B., Patient

“Overall, I highly recommend patients try ExaStim. It takes a little getting used to, but the results were incredible after using it for only 4 weeks. As a quadriplegic, the most life-changing result would be to regain any amount of hand/wrist function — and ANEUVO made that a reality! I look forward to using the device again in the future!”

Sean H., Patient

“Having a highlevel SCI, my son’s deepest desire has not been to walk but rather to have functioning hands again. In only 4 weeks, ExaStim has allowed him to hold and pour a drink into his own mouth!”

Anonymous, Caregiver

If this brought more independence in as little as one month, it is extremely exciting to think of what it will do with prolonged use! Thank you, ANEUVO for restoring hope and some function!

Stephanie J., Caregiver

“As a neuro physical therapist specializing in spinal cord injury rehabilitation, I highly recommend the ExaStim Trans Spinal Stimulation (TSS) device by ANEUVO as a cutting-edge adjunct to activity-based therapy.”

Sakina V., Therapist

“After only a month using this TSS for an average of 3 times a week at an hour each, the ExaStim has given me the independence to pick up a cup and drink without a straw for the first time in years!”

Sean H., Patient

“It alleviated that warm-up need when doing activities. Because of the sensory aspect, I felt the motion was more fluid. I may not have been able to do more, but the movements I could do were more fluid. One of the best things about doing this at home was helping my family cook food with the stimulation on — I was able to cut up beets and put them on the slicer.”

Tony S., Patient

“ANEUVO offers something unique to chronic cervical spinal sufferers. It offers hope. The device and the stimulation provided a spark that started to make certain movements possible and other movements easier. Since its transcutaneous, it’s non-invasive and there’s really no reason to not at least try the stim.”

Dan S., Patient
